Flash Paper - Halloween Party Experiment

Fire is seemingly bright colored flames that disperse a fierce wave of heat. However on a scientific level it is nothing more than a chemical combustion that releases both heat and light. When this chemical reaction comes into contact with oxygen in the air, bright orange flames appear.

Fire, when out of control, has the potential to cause a substantial amount of damage to houses, buildings, and even people. However, when fire is contained and used in a productive manner that helps us to learn science, it can be a really fun experience.

Flash paper, also known by its scientific name Nitrocellulose, is a paper well known to magicians for the magical illusion it tends to dispel. During this experiment, party goers will experience the complete effects of flash paper and learn how it relates to science.
