Class Summary: In this course students will trade in their school clothes for a lab coat as they become scientists-in-training. Throughout this course the children will participate in several hands-on activities in which they will get to experiment with a wide range of lab equipment including beakers, pipettes, stirring rods, and flasks.
Educational Value: During this course students will be introduced to several tools that lab scientists use on a regular basis, as well as how these tools functions and what they are best used for. In addition, they will learn a variety of techniques used in the lab including the concept of making observations before making conclusions. Students will walk away with a stronger scientific vocabulary and a newly learned set of skill for the science lab.
