Class Summary: Red, blue, purple, orange. Have you ever wondered what colors have to do with science? This course gives students an in-depth lesson on the vital role that science play in both lighting effects and color. From exploring the white light theory, to learning about prisms and diffraction lenses, children will be exposed to a variety of experiments and demonstrations that will satisfy their scientific curiosity when it comes to colors and lights. In addition, the students will get to view the world in a whole new light (pun intended), by using tinted glasses and glasses that give the illusion of color blindness.
Educational Value: The wide range of experiments that the children participate in throughout the duration of this course, will help them to gain a whole new perspective in terms of the role that science plays in our everyday lives. In addition to learning about both color and light as separate entities, students will also learn how they play a role in one another. By exploring the concept of color blending, light transfer, and chromatography, students will walk away with an abundance of knowledge in the field of lights and color!
