Description

Think like an engineer. Work as a team. Solve challenges like NASA! In this hands-on, collaborative camp, kids step into the role of NASA engineers, thinking like innovators, to tackle exciting space-themed challenges. From designing a mission patch to building pasta rovers and parachutes, campers use creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork to take on real-world engineering problems, just like astronauts and scientists do on a mission.

Additional Information

Final Launch - Day 5
Campers complete and polish their spinoff prototypes, then deliver lively presentations to their fellow “engineers” showcasing their ideas, process, and real-world uses. It’s a celebration of teamwork, creativity, and discovery.
Mission Kick Off - Day 1
Discover your missions & learn about Engineering Design Process. Create personalized engineering notebooks. Work as a team to design your mission patch, pasta rover, and landing system. Test and improve your designs and be a problem-solvers!
NASA on Earth - Day 3
Discover that NASA’s research improves life on Earth through “spin-off” technology. Go on a Spin-off Treasure Hunt. Continue your exploration of space technology as you create starshades and test materials to create a communication device.
Redesign & Refine - Day 4
It’s time to put ideas to the test! Work in teams to find new uses for everyday objects. Create your own spin-off prototypes from designs created throughout the week. Analyze feedback & make adjustments using creativity, communication, & critical thinking
Tools of the Trade - Day 2
NASA engineers create many types of technology to solve problems in space. Build working models of NASA-inspired technology, like a robotic arm. In teams, design a heat shield and cryogenic storage to protect their devices in the harness of space.
